Polo del Gusto: when quality becomes experience

A project that combines tradition and innovation to enhance outstanding Italian gastronomic products while respecting sustainability and quality and preserving authenticity.

Established in 2019, Polo del Gusto is a project resulting from Riccardo Illy’s vision to diversify the family business and explore the wonders of Italian food and wine. The goal? Enhancing the value of artisan products that focus on quality and making them known to palates worldwide, giving future generations better products made with respect for the environment and people.

An aggregator of excellence

Polo del Gusto is a true taste laboratory where tradition and innovation meet. The project collaborates with small producers to rediscover ancient recipes and give life to products that respect tradition while evolving.

Think of Achillea’s organic juices, which encapsulate all the freshness of Mediterranean citrus fruits, or Agrimontana’s creations, which turn fruit into small works of art. And then there’s Domori, with its intense chocolate that melts all resistance, and Pintaudi’s artisan biscuits, where every detail is lovingly cared for.

Sustainability: a real commitment

Sustainability is at the heart of everything. Polo del Gusto offers quality products while keeping a keen eye on the environment. Short supply chains, fine raw materials, and environmentally friendly practices are integral to the company’s philosophy.

Even in the most complex times, such as recent challenges related to raw material supply, the company has focused on the balance between production and nature, proving that growing without compromising the environment is possible.

Promoting an innovative and sustainable economy

Since 2021, Polo del Gusto has promoted the “Economy of the Future” award, given annually to personalities, companies, and projects that centre their activities on a vision of economic development capable of anticipating future trends and solutions. The goal is to promote a business culture focused on enhancing and respecting all resources at every stage of the production process.

The Incantalia project was born in 2023 with the goal of supporting quality, rigorous ingredient selection, and attention to sustainability. Polo del Gusto’s retail brand aims to develop a network of stores in Italy, abroad, and online. Incantalia, which, in addition to offering all Polo’s brands, also provides a selection of other products, aims to be a welcoming place to have taste experiences and from which to spread food and wine culture and knowledge of Made in Italy excellence and traditions.

Looking ahead without losing one’s identity

With a turnover of around 100 million euros and planned investments of 50 million in 2023-2025, Polo del Gusto proves how, by paying attention to quality and the environment, one can grow and conquer new markets by bringing the best of Made in Italy to the world. The group is not only involved in the management of the acquired brands but also supports other companies with equity investments and financing, fostering their growth.
