The history of Damiani is among the most fascinating in the world of high-end Made in Italy jewellery. Founded in 1924 in the heart of Valenza Po, a city synonymous with gold and gemstones, this company has transformed its passion for craftsmanship into an international success story. Here, each piece of jewellery is not just a luxury item, but a piece of history, handmade and rich in meaning.

The roots: from workshop to artisan tradition

It all began with Enrico Grassi Damiani, a master goldsmith who, armed with talent and passion, opened a workshop where the art of goldsmithing became more than just a profession. Over the years, thanks to the innovative approach of his son, Damiano Damiani, the company began to grow, introducing ideas that were cutting-edge at the time, such as fixed-price catalogues and product guarantees. This deep connection with artisan tradition is still reflected today: in fact, every Damiani jewel undergoes dozens of manual processing stages before seeing the light of day, a sign of quality that remains at the heart of the brand’s production philosophy, even in an increasingly fast-paced and competitive global context.

One family, three generations: a passion that keeps on growing

In the 1990s, the third generation of the family — Guido, Silvia and Giorgio Damiani — joined the company, bringing with them an international vision while maintaining the values they had inherited. Guido is now president, supported by his siblings, who are responsible for communications, exports and product development, respectively. This shared leadership demonstrates that family ties remain at the heart of the company. This continuity has allowed Damiani to grow without losing its identity, consolidating its position in the world of fine jewellery and demonstrating that tradition and innovation are not opposites, but parts of the same design.

Numbers that shine: people, growth and global presence

Today, Damiani Group is an international company with approximately 500 employees in Italy and abroad, a direct presence in the world’s major markets and over 50 single-brand boutiques in the most prestigious luxury shopping streets. This is complemented by a solid industrial strategy that continues to deliver concrete results. Even in 2024, the symbolic centenary year, Damiani recorded double-digit growth, confirming a positive trend that testifies to the strength of the brand and its ability to intercept global demand that is increasingly attentive to authenticity and the value of Made in Italy. This result stems from a balance between craftsmanship, high-end positioning and an international vision.

Awards, design and corporate culture

Throughout its history, Damiani has built up an extraordinary track record, winning 22 Diamonds International Awards, considered the ‘Oscars’ of jewellery: 18 awarded to the Damiani brand and 4 to historic brands that have become part of the group, such as Calderoni. These awards celebrate not only the beauty of the jewels but also the quality of the design and craftsmanship.

In addition to product awards, Damiani has also received important recognition in recent years for its corporate culture. Its place on the podium of Italy’s Best Employers for Women 2026 reflects a company that cares about its people, values female talent and has an inclusive organisational model, consistent with a modern and responsible corporate vision.

Made in Italy jewels that talk to the world

Damiani is living proof that the value of Italian craftsmanship lies not only in the beauty of the objects themselves, but also in the uniqueness of the vision, the solidity of the values and the meticulous attention to the creative and human process. Today, as a hundred years ago, each piece of jewellery tells a story that brings together hands, ideas and the future, intertwining innovation and craftsmanship in a continuous dialogue between past and future.
