There’s a company that, for over seventy years, has embodied the Italian entrepreneurial spirit, where a passion for mechanics intertwines with a constant pursuit of perfection. We’re talking about Poggipolini, a company that has successfully combined Made-in-Italy craftsmanship, technological innovation, and a passion for performance. Founded in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, a land of motors and precision mechanics, the company is now internationally recognized as one of the leading manufacturers of high-performance fastening systems, especially for the racing world.
The origins: passion and mechanics
Founded in the 1950s in Calderara di Reno, just outside Bologna, by Calisto Poggipolini, the company began as a mechanical workshop specializing in the production of fastening components.
From the very beginning, the quality of its work and attention to detail have become distinguishing features. In a highly competitive sector, Poggipolini stands out for its ability to respond to specific needs with customized solutions, building trusting relationships with increasingly demanding clients over time.
Choosing not to be “standard”
As the years passed, the company grew. But instead of pursuing the simpler path of mass production, Poggipolini chose a different, more complex, and ambitious direction: specialization. This led to a focus on special, custom-designed fasteners, capable of meeting increasingly demanding needs.

In the 1970s, Calisto’s son Stefano raced motorcycles and, to make them lighter, created titanium bolts that no one else was using yet, sparking interest. The introduction of titanium as a leading material was a strategic choice that would change Poggipolini’s future. Lightweight, resistant, and suitable for extreme applications, titanium became the core of an increasingly high-performance production.
Thanks to these skills, Poggipolini gradually entered the world of motorsports, collaborating with leading teams in Formula 1, MotoGP, and international competitions, establishing itself as a benchmark for the production of ultra-lightweight, durable components. Custom-made titanium bolts, screws, pins, and structural parts make the difference on the track, where every gram saved can decide the outcome of a race.
From automotive to aerospace
The expertise gained in motorsports opens up new opportunities. Poggipolini expands its business to the premium automotive, aerospace, and defense sectors, all of which require extremely high standards of safety and precision. The company specializes in the production of critical fastening systems, designed to withstand extreme stresses and demanding operating conditions.
At the same time, Poggipolini strengthened its industrial structure, investing in state-of-the-art machinery, research and development, and staff training. Innovation became a continuous process, integrated into every phase of production.
Made in Italy innovation and acquisitions
In 2019, Poggipolini launched Sens-in, a company that makes fasteners intelligent, enabling them to transmit data and report the tightness of a system or the quality of a fastening. Furthermore, to grow in the aerospace market, Poggipolini acquired Aviomec, a Varese-based company specializing in helicopter transmission systems, in 2022. The next step was the 2024 acquisition of Houston Precision Fasteners (HDI), a Texas-based company recognized for working with leading companies in the American aerospace market: a strategic move to enter the North American market.
Poggipolini today
Today, Poggipolini, with 200 employees and a €50 million turnover, is led by Michele, the third generation of the family. It is a leading international industrial company, strongly focused on exports and well-established in the most advanced sectors of precision mechanics. Despite operating globally, the company remains deeply rooted in Made in Italy and the Emilia region, a symbol of a constantly evolving manufacturing tradition.
